Inspiration Behind The Art

Assata Shakur is one of my personal heroes, her example on how to stand up representing her self against a corrupt judicial system, gave me hope and courage during trial to stand for my self

She exhibited the genetic imprint of our ancestors, her spirit is that of the warrior Queen Dynasty of Candace.. She fights for our freedom with courage and valor, teaching unity and self determination, awaiting the day we open our minds to recognize our true purpose.

The symbols:

courage/valor (top), Self determination (bottom) The Panther wraps around valor/courage, stepping inta Afriga in which I have "Hadinet" (UNITY) written in our original Semitic language Tigrinya,. To remind US (The Afriaan Diaspora) this is what is needed for us to acquire true Justice.

Assata is our present dav reminder of our ancestral Rova warrior class, flaked by the Lion in the sky (right corner our ancestors implore us to reclaim our Roval social and cultural integrity in order to live in harmony with the natura order of life.

(Bottom left) Our elder George Jackson smile approvingly of what we will accomplish once we master Unity..

Thank you for learning more about my Artistic Expression.. 1 luv...Ahwet Nehafash. Tomas S. Afeworki.
