The mural was inspired by the legacy of the Black Panther Party and the power of community care, self-determination, and resilience. The Black Panther Garden represents a living space where history, healing, and empowerment intersect. I wanted the mural to honor the Panthers’ commitment to protecting and uplifting Black communities while also reflecting growth, nourishment, and forward movement. The imagery speaks to strength rooted in unity—where culture, land, and people come together to cultivate pride, remembrance, and hope for future generations.
